1.Kingaroy Swimming Club is an affiliated member of Queensland Swimming Association to which it pays an annual subscription for each swimmer member.
2.On paying the annual subscription to Kingaroy Swimming Club members become members of Queensland Swimming Association and are bound by the rules and by-laws of Queensland Swimming Association.
3.Swimmers are allowed to swim at two clubs nights before they are obliged to become financial members. Swimmers may not swim at any QSA carnival as a Kingaroy Swimmer until financial.
4.Financial assistance is available to swimmers as detailed below; however funds can only be used to support Kingaroy Swimming Club members who have in turn supported the club and may be described as bona fide members. To be classified as a bona fide member the member must meet the following three criteria, although exceptions may occur at the discretion of the executive.
(i)The member family must have been involved in the club nights and other club functions for a minimum of two seasons including timekeeping, judging and/or other roles.
(ii)The swimmer to have swum in carnivals as a Kingaroy swimmer for a minimum of two seasons.
(iii)The swimmer to train, on a regular basis, at KAC for the preceding two seasons.
Dual Membership and Transfer to another club
1.Under QSA rules a swimmer may be a member of an unlimited number of QSA clubs in the same season but may not represent more than one club in competition unless they have obtained a transfer. He/she may only compete in the Club Championships of one club in each season.
2.To transfer from one club to another requires i) an application to QSA with the QSA transfer fee and ii) include a financial clearance from the original club.
3.Swimmers who are a member of another club in addition to Kingaroy Swimming Club must make a written declaration to the executive of Kingaroy Swimming Club if they wish to represent Kingaroy in competition and be eligible to compete in the Kingaroy Club Championships.
4.Honorary visiting members may be admitted to Kingaroy Club for a period of one month provided the visitor is a member of a QSA affiliated club or an Association affiliated to Australian Swimming Inc. Visiting members may not compete in Club Championships nor swim as a Kingaroy Swimmer.
Kingaroy Swimming Club Revenue Policy
Funds are received from the following sources:
1. Membership dues. The annual subscription fee is determined at the AGM. From these funds are paid the contributions to Queensland, Wide Bay and South Burnett Swimming Associations.
2. Fundraising and Grant submissions. The major reasons for fundraising are:
(i)To promote a spirit of community
(ii)To reduce the financial contribution on member families.
(iii)To provide funds to assist in the development of Kingaroy Swimming Club members.
All fundraising ventures and grant submissions must be consistent with the clubˇ¦s aims and have the prior approval of the Kingaroy Swimming Club executive.
Kingaroy Swimming Club Expenditure Policy
Funds have been used in the past in a variety of ways to develop Kingaroy Swimming.
Each season the number of swimmers qualifying for events such as Nationals, State Age and Queensland teams varies as does the amount of funds available. The level of assistance may then be varied each season. In determining funding requests the primary objective is to assist all Kingaroy swimmers have the opportunity to reach their potential.
The priorities for funding are as follows, each expenditure to be approved by the executive at a regular monthly meeting prior to the expenditure being incurred. Details of all expenditure should be detailed in the Kingaroy Swimming Club financial reports.
1. Contributing to travelling expenses to team swims as determined by the club executive in conjunction with the coach.
2. Contribution to travelling expenses for State Age swims.
3. Contributing to travelling expenses for Kingaroy Swimmers who have been selected in a Queensland team (including Queensland Schools Swimming Team) and who are not receiving funding from other sources.
4. Contributing to travelling expenses for Kingaroy Swimmers who have qualified for Nationals and who are expected to swim in a time under the qualifying time.
5. Provision of a Kingaroy Swimming Club tracksuit for each National swimmer.
6. Contributing to travelling expenses for the coach and/or Manager for Nationals.
7. Contributing to travelling expenses for KSC officials who hold executive positions in Wide Bay and/or Queensland Swimming Associations.
8. Provide and fund opportunities for coaches, officials and other volunteers to develop their skills and enhance their enjoyment in the sport of swimming. For example referee training courses and the like.
